Born in Hamburg, Germany, living in Zurich, Switzerland. Live act, Producer and Tinkerer at its finest. A performance made for the club, beyond your usual turntablism or laptop act. Preaching from a pulpit which he designed and built himself. So many knobs and buttons, dynamic, colorful, seductive – how the hell does he know how to handle this beast? It must be tremendous fun to be in control here.
With his unparalleled gear, Ander plays an absolutely water-tight live act. Unique. Always focused on the groove of this moment, still riding you to the next bassline. As a producer, Ander develops his tracks out of his live performances. Ander has released music on CNTXTS/Tuning Spork, Tonspur Records, Unalike Music, Freunde Elektronischer Musik, Eminor Binary, Nice Try Records and The crates.
Michal’s 2005 solo debut, the Frisky EP, gained worldwide support from clubbers and DJs such as Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin and Steve Bug, to name a few.
After two more solo EPs, Michal released his debut full-length Screw the Coffeemaker in 2007, further cementing his reputation not just with the international club community, but with the press as well: DJ Mag (UK) awarded 4.5 stars out of 5 and called it “modern techno dynamism. It’s something the minimalists should learn from.” The album spawned three singles and prompted a flood of requests for remix work.
Since then, various releases have followed. Michal’s style can be best described as stripped-down, funky, pumping house – crafted with his ear on the new sounds, but ultimate respect for the old sounds.
Something mystical surrounds this young and very talented musician that emerged from Zurich techno scene in the past few years. It has been told that he was forced by his father to play the 303 at a tender age of three years, that at nights, he had to lay down his head to CV to MIDI converter instead of a pillow. Rumours are afloat, that his biggest fan is Ark (Perlon, Karat, Circus), that he produces Hip Hop beats for Rashaad Newsome’s interdisciplinary Art in New York and that MRZ’ tracks are played regularly at clubs worldwide. We can’t tell. It’s what we have been told…
What we can tell is, that he has blown our mind live and with the music he has released on Nice Try Records and Unoiki in Berlin: funky, funny, sonically unique, driving techno and house music. And this is exactly what you can expect.
Born in Turin, Italy, Andrea Vacca aka Pettinato approaches electronic dance music at a very young age. His first productions were welcomed with enthusiasm by his local heroes, and one of them decides to open his set with one of his “untitled” tracks at the legendary “Dachkantine” in Zurich, Switzerland.
This leads to the birth of “Pettinato”. His work as a producer is almost entirely focused on his live shows, where he loves to experiment and improvise, playing with different combinations of sounds in every set. Listening to his music, you can clearly recognize his influences; 60’s and 70’s rock, funk, post-punk and 90’s electronic music. With powerful basslines, minimal beats, psychedelic sounds, hypnotic melodies, Pettinato’s tracks are therefore extracts from this ever changing stream of sounds and beats.
Interested in cables, knobs and faders way before knowing how to tie his shoes, Fabio Papa shows a very early interest in music production. His love for the stripped down, bass-heavy sounds from the “roots” era of Jamaican music and for the hypnotic rhythms of techno lead him to set up a first small music production studio in teenage years.
After moving from Lugano to Zurich, Fabio Papa starts playing live in 2007 under the name “Störgeräusche” (‘interference’). His minimal techno built around unconventional sound sources and noises makes people dance in Switzerland and abroad at venues like Hive, Zukunft, Stairs club, Chocolate festival and 48 Hours Neukölln. After a series of EPs on various labels, released under his real name, Fabio Papa starts playing live acts again and he is loving it more than ever!

I want to believe that slumber is where our subconciousness is heading.

Having been around the Zurich techno scene for a while now, Styro2000 still did not like to play the piano when he was a kid. He preferred his fathers record collection instead, being a dedicated fanboy of the Beatles and other pop icons. Styro2000 started playing house and techno records publicly in 1991 and, against all odds, has kept his pseudomyn until today. During that time he turned into one of the pivotal figures of the Zurich techno scene. Starting with the foundation of the Kisag Kollektiv, later writing about the techno scene in the book “Techno” of Philipp Anz and Patrick Walder. He was musical editor at the Swiss radio DRS3 and is the founder of the alternative Street Parade festival Lethargy. All this time he has been playing live and as a DJ. For his live set he developed his own kind of sequencer, the Digilog. Together with his partner Bang Goes he is performing a live act called “Gallopierende Zuversicht”.
